I must admit, I've been doing alot of wondering (questioning). If my previous efforts to find balance in my life did not work, why would new efforts work? How can I do things differently than I have in the past?
Which do I focus on first body, mind, or spirit? All three seem equally important to me and one can definitely affect the other. I have a tendency to overeat, because I'm stressed. If I find time to work on the mind and spirit, my body may be affected positively.
I think the best way to create success is to find success and explore it; therefore, I've begun to watch (explore). I've made a list of the positive people in my life who seem to have balance in their life. I want to observe these people and perhaps interview them. Thus far, I've learned that almost all of these people exercise on a regular basis; this does not just mean that they walk down the hall, but they purposely set aside time in their schedule to exercise. One person even mentioned that they meditate.
In hopes of finding out more about meditation, I began the webbing (searching) phase of my inquiry. I purchased the book Meditation Bliss by David Fontana. I've learned so far that there are different ways to meditate. Several methods incorporate the things I love: music, scent, and deep breathing. This book hints to the benefits of yoga. I suppose this is where my next search will take me.

How Do I Find Balance in Life?
What's for breakfast? I don't have clean socks! What's for lunch? I can't find my clogging shoes! What's for supper? Can you take Nate to Taekwondo? Will you help me study for my Science test tonight? I need a pathfinder on the American Revolution by tomorrow............
This is just a small glimpse of my crazy daily life; not unlike many of my schoolmates or colleagues. However, my level of fitness and ability to maintain balance may differ. As I embark on a new career, I realize that I need to find balance in my life. My weight and blood pressure are on the rise and I find my self frowning more than I smile. I want to create fond memories for my children; ones with plenty of laughter and fun. I truly feel blessed to be alive at the age of 37; women in my family have a tendency to die young. My mother died at the age of 32 and her mother died at 52. I want to do everything possible to extend my life; along with the quality. In order to do so, I need to discover a way to relieve my stress and be more productive.
I've been overweight all of my adult life. I know that I am a stress eater and that I have emotional roots that need to be uprooted so that I can be successful in my journey. The following topics are areas that I would like to explore in order to develop a plan of action for finding balance in life.
Possible topics to explore:
Time Management
Diet-Nutritional Balance
Varieties of Exercise- Especially Yoga
Spiritual Growth- Positive Thinking
Do I explore all of these venues or focus on one?

"Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude." -Thomas Jefferson
